It accomplishes ââ¬Å"important environmental services such as air and water purification, the wind and noise filtering, and microclimate stabilizationâ⬠. Thus, parks promote physical health by providing green spaces and fresh air for exercising and walking and increase social well-being through opportunities for interacting with neighbors and peers at a shared, common location. The social and psychological services of parks and recreation are vital for the livability of modern cities.
